ABOUT THE CONTEST
The Alexandra Gribkova and Evgenia Poltavskaya Art Contest is held among citizens of the Russian Federation and citizens of other countries, students in children's art school programs, as well as secondary vocational / higher education, in the field of fine arts, in order to promote artistic creativity in the field of fine art and design, and also to develop and improve the artistic level of the Contest participants' works.
The Contest is held in two age groups: 14-17 years and 18-24 years, in the following categories: "Still Life", "Portrait", "Landscape", "Genre Scene", "Arts and Crafts Product", "Graphics", "Art Object Dedicated to the Defenders of the Homeland."

...WHAT MY HOMELAND MEANS TO ME
ALEXANDRA GRIBKOVA AND EVGENIA POLTAVSKAYA
Alexandra Gribkova and Evgenia Poltavskaya were students at the Kalinin Vocational Art School (now the College of Design and Decorative Arts of the Stroganov University). When the Great Patriotic War (World War II) began, both girls decided to go to the front to fight for their homeland. In November 1941, during the Battle of Moscow, they were captured, but even under severe torture, they did not give information to the enemy and were brutally executed near Volokolamsk.
In memory of the selfless feat of the students, it was decided to establish an Art Contest in their name.
Citizens of the Russian Federation and other countries who are students at children's art schools / in secondary and higher vocational education programs in the field of fine arts and design are eligible to participate in the Contest.
Age
The age of participants is from 14 to 24 years old.
Group works
Group works are not accepted.
Category
Contest participants may simultaneously submit works in several categories.
Theme
The main theme of the competition is: "...what my homeland means to me," please be sure to relate the work that will be submitted to the Contest to the theme.
Category
The competition is held in the following categories: "Still Life", "Portrait", "Landscape", "Genre Scene", "Arts and Crafts Product", "Graphics", "Art Object Dedicated to the Defenders of the Homeland."
Format
Photographic works must be submitted in "jpeg" format with the first save at maximum quality; the image size must be at least 4500 pixels on the long side, photo quality must be 300 dpi, color space must be "RGB", and orientation must be correct (horizontal-vertical).
Repeated participation
Works that have previously been submitted to the Contest, regardless of the results, are not accepted for participation in the Contest again.
Authorship
Works for consideration by the Contest commissions and the Jury must be authored and copyrighted by the Contest participant who submitted the works. A participant who submits to the Contest a work that they are not the author of bears full responsibility in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation to the holder of the exclusive copyright to the submitted photographic work.
Ethics
Competition works/projects must not contain calls for violence and ethnic hatred, or violations of moral and ethical standards.
The Contest is held annually in two stages. Participants of the first stage selected by the Contest commission proceed to the second stage of the Contest.
Applications submitted in violation of the deadlines and other non-compliance with the Contest rules will not be considered.
To participate in the Contest, participants complete applications in the prescribed form through the Contest website. Photographs and descriptions of the works are attached to the applications.
The evaluation of Contest works in the second stage and the determination of the laureates, diplomates of the Contest, and the recipient of the special prize named after A. Gribkova and E. Poltavskaya are the responsibility of the Contest Jury

Application Review
Your application is submitted to the organizing committee, where it is initially reviewed for compliance with the Competition rules.
Selection
Participants who pass to the second stage of the Contest will receive a corresponding notification to the contact information provided in the application, no later than October 10, inclusive.
Second Stage
In the second stage, the Contest Jury will consider the applications that have passed the initial selection.
Feedback
The organizing committee will contact the winners of the Contest separately to confirm participation in the awards ceremony.* (*if it is held in person)
Awards Ceremony
The announcement of the winners will take place in December 2025 in Moscow.* (*if the Ceremony is held in person)

ABOUT THE ORGANIZER
The organizer of the Contest is the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education "Russian State University of Design and Applied Arts named after S.G. Stroganov (Stroganov University)".
The College of Design and Decorative Arts of the Stroganov University is the heir and successor to the world-famous Moscow Vocational School of Applied Arts, which opened in 1920. In 1931, the vocational school was named after M.I. Kalinin.
Currently, the College of Design and Decorative Arts of the Stroganov University is the leading educational organization of secondary vocational education in Russia. The College of Design and Decorative Arts of the Stroganov University creates new directions and opens new doors for its graduates on a solid foundation of quality art education.
